If your reading this and don't know who I am, what's wrong with you? Are ya that bored? Anywho, i'm gonna play around with this and see how much fun it can be and who knows, I might even shed a bit of thoughtful insight to you readers. So i've started reading the bible from the beginning again but this time out of "The Message" just for kicks. I really like the intro by Eugene H. Peterson and his take on the books of Moses. So far, i'm only in chapter 40 of Genesis around the whole Joseph and being taken to jail but I love the translation. There were a few confusing spots earlier around Noah and a few other places, especially when you read the NIV or the KJV in the same area, but together it's easy to see where he gets the translation from. One thing that has really caught my attention more than anything before is that there were some really messed up people in Genesis, including those who God keeps promising great things to. It's really unbelieveable that he even walked, talked, and stood in front of these failures even after they continue to disobey him. Most people see the "old testament God" as this angry, senile old man bent on the Earths destruction, and doing away with fun of all kind, yet in this translation, it paints a picture of a very caring and loving God who puts up with all our faults and treasures a personal relationship with his creation! It's a great feeling to realize that even these people that God chosen continually mess things up and go against his will, the lovingly takes care of them when they do as he asks.

I'll go into more detail later with my next blog. Hopefully i'll be into Exodus by then. Anyway, you myspacers be sure to check out my new group http://groups.myspace.com/lexgaming we are starting a new league here in lexington for videogaming. My hope is to use this as an awesome outreach to the youth and young adults of the area to minister in a way that is relevant to them. Please take the time to pray for this even if you aren't an avid gamer or even know just what a Nintendo Wii is. Peace out!Matthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17968272201313079816noreply@blogger.com
